Village Voice Media Executive Editor Mike Lacey is based in Phoenix, Arizona. He has and a longstanding and contentious relationship with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. In 2007, Mike was arrested from home by MCSO Deputies for publishing the home address of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on the front page of the Phoenix New Times. Mr Lacey explained: “[W]hen you stand up to him there are consequences, this is part of the reason why he’s the target of a federal grand jury investigation.”
